iFollo.com, a fan-driven online community where citizen journalists share real stories of encounters with celebrities and public figures, today announced a $1 million investment from investor Robert S. Trump. The infusion of capital will allow iFollo to further establish its leadership position as the premiere online forum for user-generated content surrounding authentic celebrity experiences.
“We are pleased to work with such a notable and trusted partner as Robert Trump,” said Colin House, CEO of iFollo. “His investment will allow us to continue growing at a tremendous pace and further develop iFollo’s capabilities as the universal portal for credible celebrity news and encounters.”
Trump, president of Trump Management, Inc., a privately-owned firm engaged in residential and commercial real estate ownership, management and investments, has an extensive personal investment history with successful start-up companies. Among his most well-known ventures is ZeniMax Media Inc., a unique media organization that develops and publishes award-winning video games for PCs, Sony's Play Station®, Play Station® 2 and Microsoft's Xbox®, and has games in development for Xbox® 360, Play Station® Portable, Nintendo DS, and other next-generation consoles. Trump is an original investor as well as a member of the board of ZeniMax Media Inc.
“iFollo is pioneering a unique, untapped niche within the multi-million dollar celebrity and entertainment following industry that has huge potential to attract significant revenue,” said Trump. “This is not only an investment in iFollo and its philosophy, but also in its committed, savvy executive team with proven entrepreneurial success and an aggressive plan for developing and capitalizing on this market potential.”
With considerable speed to market -- from idea to global launch in three months -- iFollo continues to drive significant growth since its debut in late 2009. The site regularly draws users from more than 50 countries, who supply user-generated content that shapes an additional dimension to celebrity profiles and personas.
